Mission Statement

It is the vision of ORI to not only assist those caring for the orphans and under-privileged children of Guatemala, but also to implement interventions to interrupt the "orphan cycle." In order for this to be accomplished, a holistic approach to meeting the needs of the children of Guatemala is essential. In addition to the occupational needs, the spiritual and personal development of the child needs to be addressed.

The need seems overwhelming, and many grand programs have been initiated -- and eventually fail -- for lack of consideration of a sustainable, viable approach. ORI desires to trial a program, in consultation and collaboration with national business people, experts and advisors, to develop a program which will be sustainable for the long term in meeting the needs of some of the children. Initially, a limited approach will be taken, focusing on 6-10 boys, with consideration of a broader based, longer term program as God leads and enables.
