The Freed Family

Hi, we are the Freed family. We moved to Guatemala at the end of January 2008.

Denny is helping with the monthly food and resource deliveries. He also helps out with whatever else comes up. He's helped with work teams, helped to organize the new warehouse, and enjoys meeting all the new people in the different orphanages that he is learn to know. Denny is a Nurse Practitioner and the goal is to begin several clinics in or close to several orphanages that we serve.

Barb is a stay at home mother and her main job for now is to supervise the education of our three daughters. She is learning to navigate the roads in Guatemala and the favorite place to take the girls is to an orphanage that is located close to where we live. We try to get out two or three times a week and enjoy having the children recognize us now when we arrive.

Maredith is in 9th grade and is looking forward to her 16th birthday this year. She enjoys reading, playing soccer, taking care of babies, and loving on our puppy, Oso. Of course, she is hoping to learn to drive more then the tow-motor in the warehouse this year.

Abby is in 7th grade and is 13 years old. She also enjoys reading, writing stories, horseback riding -- which she hasn't gotten to do yet here in Guatemala - and playing with the children at the orphanage.

Risa is in 5th grade and celebrated her 11th birthday right before we moved to Guatemala. She enjoys reading, writing, playing with the children, playing soccer and is learning to sew.

We are thrilled to be involved with Orphan Resources in their ministry in Guatemala. We have a blog running on www.myspace.com/freedfamily which we try to keep up to date with what is happening in our lives.
